Eleven years after opening its first hotel in São Miguel
SINGULAR PROPERTIES AZORES consolidated its position as a distinctive hospitality group, guided by four core principles: authenticity, exclusivity, sustainability and excellence.
SANTA BÁRBARA Eco-Beach Resort, the first eco-beach resort in the Azores. Set above the dark sand beach of Santa Bárbara in Ribeira Grande, introduced a new approach to hospitality in the region, combining contemporary architecture integrated into the landscape, a strong environmental commitment and a lifestyle connected to the ocean.
Following this success, the group opened WHITE Exclusive Suites & Villas in 2018. Located in the Lagoa area, in a privileged setting near the coastline with open views over the Atlantic Ocean, the hotel occupies a carefully restored historic building. It was conceived as an adults-only boutique hotel, featuring just nine suites and one villa. The concept prioritizes privacy, tranquillity, and highly personalized service, within an atmosphere of understated sophistication and close attention to detail.
The portfolio was later strengthened with CASA DA ROCHA, a private oceanfront luxury villa in Lagoa. Designed for exclusive use, Casa da Rocha combines the independence of a private residence with the services and standards of the Group’s hospitality operation.
Together, these projects helped elevate the perception of boutique and luxury hospitality in the Azores, attracting both national and international guests seeking authenticity and refined simplicity.
Shared Vision & New Projects
As tourism in the Azores continued to grow, the moment came to take the next step.
Following the success of SANTA BÁRBARA, WHITE and CASA DA ROCHA, SINGULAR PROPERTIES AZORES was formally established to consolidate its portfolio under a unified brand and clear strategic direction.
Drawing on our experience in the regional market , combined with a clear understanding of international hospitality trends, confirms that our model responds to a growing demand for smaller scale properties, strong identity and meaningful guest experiences. Each unit maintains its own character, with distinct services, spaces and accommodations, while sharing the same standard of quality and attention to detail.
In line with this strategy, the Group is preparing to inaugurate RESIDENCE in the summer of 2026. The project will introduce five new luxury private villas, designed to offer elevated privacy, contemporary architecture and seamless service. RESIDENCE represents the next stage in the Group’s development, strengthening its presence in São Miguel while remaining fully aligned with its founding principles.
With growth in local tourism, it became clear that it was time to take the next step.
